Concealer under my eyes?

i have hereditary dark circles under my eyes. when i apply concealer, it looks cakey even before i apply powder. any suggestions to fix this? should i just opt to not use concealer under my eyes?

thanks in advance!Concealer under my eyes?
What kind of concealer do you use? It could be that you're using cheap concealer. I suggest MAC select cover-up (it's only $15 and lasts a long time). I apply that with a small makeup brush and then blend it in with my finger. It works really well.

Yeah, idk, I tend to shy away from brands you find in most stores (like CoverGirl and Almay). Except for maybe mascara, it tends to look cheap. But that could just be me haha.Concealer under my eyes?
Concealer sticks are drying, that's why your under-eye starts to look cake-y.

For dark under-eye circles,

drugstore: Try Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector

One side is a liquid concealer and the other side is a liquid highlighter.

department store: MAC select moisture cover or select cover up

These are both liquid, don't cake, and have decent coverage.

MAC is the better choice if you can afford it, but Maybelline is a decent alternative.

Btw, you should put moisturizer/eye cream on before your concealer, if you don't already.

You don't need both concealer and powder at the same time :)

If you have naturally even, nice skin and just want to take off the shine than you could use a light powder

if not you could (do what I do and) just wear a foundation that matches in with your skin

you gotta find a good foundation and not one that makes you look fake and cake-faced and blends really easily

you'll most likely experiment with a few before you find one you want to stick to but foundation is very important! people have to look at you day to day ;P

good luck!!
i saw on the tyra show once that you should put your concealer on after you foundation, but that was liquid foundation, maybe try the same shade as your powder in liquid, put that on, then the concealer and then the powder, i use the cover girl true blend, its lightweight so you don't feel like your skin can't breath and blend very well and they have a tester thingy that you hold up to your hand so you can match your color
I have the same problem.

I use PHYSICIANS FORMULA CIRCLE RX CIRCLE CONTROL CONCEALER. It is about seven dollars and provides wonderful coverage for deep, dark, undereye circles and it also lightens them with continued use.

You can find it at your local wal-mart, CVS, or any drugstore.
If your concealer is cake like then it may be time to try something new. You should have no issue with using a foundation, then a concealer stick under your eyes, with a powder on top. What are you using?
You should use Physicians Formula concealer, it works really well! And it is not cakey just apply well.

ORRRRRRR...try using Bare Minerals, it's amazing.
if you want good, extraordinary results you should buy lancome or estee lauder, believe me, I tried lots of drugstore products, none of them work..... I use Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv intensive concealing Duo on weekends and LANCOME maquicomplet conceler for weekdays
I use MaryKay's concealer, because I also have heavy dark circles under my eyes. This concealer makes my skin look flawless including under my eyes. If you want more info. on this e-mail me jasminemclin@yahoo.com
I think you need different concealer.

Try Almay Bright eyes its made for those circles. Thats what i use and its amazing and natural
